The Team
The SENA Project started in the end of 2005. The group was initially composed entirely of
mechatronics engineering students. At that time, they began the design of the first prototype, Navalha, and had the support
of the Head of the Mechatronics Engineering Course at EESC – USP (Prof. Glauco A. P. Caurin). In the middle of 2008, Prof. Marcelo
Becker joined the Mechanical Engineering Department at EESC – USP and became the SENA Project Leader. Since then, the group member
quantity has grown. Nowadays, it is formed by undergraduate, postgraduate (Master and Doctor of Science) students, post-doc
researchers, and professors of various campus courses, departments, and institutes (Mechatronics and Mechanics Engineering, Computer
Sciences, etc.).
